LONGEVITY AND SPREAD

Planting Development Years 2001-2016

Having written my BSc. Landscape Architect on “Public Green Spaces – the development from traditional to semi-natural planting. Better, cheaper, more diverse?” I wrote my Int. Master Landscape Architect on “Longevity and Spread of clonal and non-clonal herbaceous perennials” as a case study of a formerly well-established border.

As an architect and designer, it is crucial to never forget to put any construction on a suitable foundation, hence in the case of plants: The right plant in the right place.

Depending on overall conditions, any other approach could provide an attractive result, too; however, in a highly designed open space, it might not be sustainable. In the end, nature always wins!
